Free Kindergarten
With the introduction of the Free-Kinder Initiative as a part of government early childhood reforms, sessional kindergarten is now free for all children in three and four year old kindergarten programs at Manchester Preschool.
Please note: Children cannot do a second year of 3/4-year-old kindergarten.
4/5-year-old kindergarten is also funded for one year only, unless the child meets eligibility requirements to attend a second year. It is generally advised that children attend 3/4-year-old kindergarten in the year they turn four, and attend 4/5-year-old kindergarten in the year they turn five.
Children are only able to receive the government funding at one service (for example if your child attends Manchester Preschool for their funded kindergarten program, but also attends a child care program – you cannot receive the funding at both services).
